Cost Centers are an important component of a company's organizational structure and accounting system, allowing for more precise tracking and management of expenses throughout the business.
Admin, Finance Controller and Accountant can create or edit Cost Centres
Steps to create a cost centre:
Log in to the Mysa dashboard
Navigate to the Profile setting on the top left of your screen and select "Org Settings"
Go to Cost centre on the left navigation click + Add Cost Centre
Enter the cost centre name and click create
Note
1. Cost centre names are Unique
2. Cost centre once created cannot be edited. They can only be deactivated.
Once created cost centres are immediately available to apply to a bill
Steps to deactivate a cost centre:
Log in to the Mysa dashboard
Navigate to the Profile setting on the top left of your screen and select "Org Settings"
Go to Cost centre on the left navigation, and navigate to the cost centre thats needs to be deactivated. Toggle the switch and confirm and the cost centre will be deactivated.
Once deactivated the cost centre will sit in the inactive tab. It can be activated back from there.
Organizations often use unique labels for their cost centres. To accommodate this, you can assign a custom nickname to cost centre in the system. This nickname will appear everywhere on the platform besides the cost centre.
