Overview

Business Units are custom reporting tags that serve as flexible identifiers you can rename and customize to match your organization's accounting structure.

These organizational constructs function as reporting tags within your ERP and can be applied at the individual line item level for granular reporting.

Admin, Finance Controller and Accountant can create or edit Business Units

Creating Business Unit

Steps to create a Business Unit:

  1. Log in to the Mysa dashboard

  2. Navigate to the Profile setting on the top left of your screen and select "Org Settings"

  3. Go to Business Unit on the left navigation click + Add Business Unit

  4. Enter the Business Unit name and click create

    Note
    1. Business Unit names are Unique
    2. Business Unit once created cannot be edited. They can only be deactivated.

  5. Once created cost centres are immediately available to apply to a bill

Deactivating a Business Unit

Steps to deactivate a Business Unit:

  1. Log in to the Mysa dashboard

  2. Navigate to the Profile setting on the top left of your screen and select "Org Settings"

  3. Go to Business Unit on the left navigation, and navigate to the Business Unit thats needs to be deactivated. Toggle the switch and confirm and the Business Unit will be deactivated.

  4. Once deactivated the Business Unit will sit in the inactive tab. It can be activated back from there.

Changing Business Unit Nickname

Organizations often use unique labels for their Business Unit. To accommodate this, you can assign a custom nickname to Business Unit in the system. This nickname will appear everywhere on the platform besides the Business Unit.

To update or change a Business Unit nickname, please submit a support ticket through our help portal.
